Thumbelina in the flower
playing with the bees,
dancing on petals.
In flew a butterfly
oh! the colours, pretty eyes,
flitting away, from pink to yellow.
Enchanted, the little one followed behind
out she jumped
and left the cocoon, her flower.
Away flew the butterfly
and away chased the little girl
towards the gardens of far away.
Into a forest on a shallow hill
the butterfly vanished
as the sweet yellow rays began to fade.
Thumbelina searched and called out in vain
then looked around the tall trees
but her prize had disappeared, nowhere to be found
Sweet princess, little princess,
she slept under the oak
Oh tiny, so tiny as she had never felt before.
And now among the tall trees
scared, she roams through the creepers
to find her way back to the paradise, her home...
